We also encourage students to get involved in other activities that Portsmouth Students' Union run, pureposefully seeking to be witnesses throughout all areas of University Life.

AU: The Athletic Union - There are roughly 35 different sports clubs at Portsmouth Uni and over 2000 students are involved with them.

Societies - these include common interest groups, physical activities, academic groups, cultural groups, faith groups and political groups. There are over 80 societies and more than 4000 students involved with them.

RAG: Raising and Giving - this is the fundraising arm of the Students' Union who raise money for three charities which are selected by students each year.

VIP: Volunteering in Portsmouth - this is the volunteering group who organise events throughout the year to engage with the community, doing projects for children, the disabled, the elderly, the environment and more.

Media - These include the student newspaper and magazine, Pugwash, the radio station, PureFM, the TV channel, UPSU.tv and the website, UPSU.net.

Course Reps - You can become a representative for your course, a go between for the students and the University to raise any issues students have or take useful information to your course members.

Governance - the Students' Union is run democratically by it's student members, so there is also opportunity to get involved in the governing at different levels of the organisation, right up to sitting on its Trustee Board.
